What you can do to reduce solid waste (garbage):
~ Drop off or sell recyclable items to a local recycling center.
~ Donate good, unwanted items to thrift shops.
~ Say no to plastic and paper bags. Bring your own bag when shopping.
~ Don't buy bottled or canned beverages. Instead, install a home water
filter. Buy reusable bottles.
~ Make a compost pile and put all the biodegradables into it. (see links below)
However, do not burn trash due to toxic results.
~ Write politicians to implement a recycling program in your community.
~ Visit ProQuo to stop junk mail.
